A couple of months ago, I was unable to zoom in or out for some reason even though I have been able to before that, since I had a device that can zoom in and out. However, recently I have come across a HUGE dilemma. It has always been helpful to me when trying to make my stop motions.

No other software I’ve tried does what I need it to. There is also barely any competition for this app on the App Store. The onion skinning doesn’t work very well either, as it displays a blurry and very bright or very dark version of the frame before and makes it very difficult to find exactly what you’re changing. It is also completely impossible to retrieve the frames once they are warped. It has built-in “draw” and “erase” features, and occasionally while drawing or erasing a 4K photo, it will warp the frame and make it impossible to work with. My worst issue with it is with the “4K” feature on the app. The camera is inconsistent from frame to frame, making it very difficult to make a decent-looking film. The “erase” feature doesn’t work very well at all. It has difficulty displaying videos at only 12 frames/second. I have been animating using Stop-Motion Studio for over a year and I have encountered a large number of issues. However, although it claims to make it simple and easy to animate, its only problems are with its own self-made limitations. So while overall I’m very glad to have this app, I’m also very angry they haven’t got their app working as advertised. There do appear to be ways to export a project strait to a video, so thank all that is holy for that at least, but it adds a stressful and clunky extra set of problems to uploading or transferring videos. The app gave me no error message in either case, just failed to do what it was suppose to do. Secondly, when I attempted to upload a fairly long video to YouTube, mainly as a test (I was beginning to worry about loosing the 700+ frames I had made thus far) the process of upload failed.

First, when I upgraded from the original free version to the full $5 version, the import process for importing videos made in the free version to full versions was not automatic, and the option to do so did not work.
The problem is that it has several bugs I’ve noticed which are very big bugs. It is mostly intuitive, has almost all the features I’ve needed, and is well designed. My kids use it, and I’m using it to make a very technical YouTube video entertaining. This app is potentially an absolutely beautiful piece of work.
